PolandPoland
Abbr: Pd ·
Adjective: Polish

Created in 1808 by the Treaty of Tilsit, Poland provided units for all the major campaigns up through 1813. Because of the highly regarded Vistula Legion and the Polish Lancers of the Guard, wargamers tend to romantically overrate Polish units. Regardless of their shortcomings, in 1812 they were enthusiastic, flexible, and fought hard for Napoleon, who seemed to be their only chance to establish a nation. Despite being overrun in 1812 and 1813, Polish units continued to serve France throughout the 1813 campaign.
