Probably not actually KIA in 1809 - "Mandó la 2ª división en la batalla de Medellín, en donde recibió siete cuchilladas en la cabeza, quedando por muerto en el campo de batalla, siendo recogido por dos oficiales franceses y llevado a un hospital. La Junta Central le ascendió a teniente general el 8 de abril de 1809."
