Commands

  • Commands the Advanced Guard Cavalry of Advanced Guard at Valmy (1792, age 72)

Hard to pin down. His regiment, the 1st Dragoon Regiment (von Lottum), is consistently documented as part of the Prussian forces at Valmy. But Prinz Ludwig von Württemberg may have commanded the actual division with his regiment. His presence at Valmy is difficult to confirm and seems unlikely.

  • Friedrich Albrecht Karl Herrmann von Wylich und Lottum (1720-1797) - He had been active in the 1787-88 campaigns, and he technically wasn't retired yet but was 72-year-old during Valmy.
  • Friedrich Wilhelm Graf von Wylich und Lottum (1716-1774) - wasn't active in 1792 due to earlier death
    • Karl Friedrich Heinrich, Graf von Wylich und Lottum (1767-1841) - Prussian general and active in 1792 at age 25, but low-ranking aide-de-cap. Wasn't Oberstleutenant until 17.5.1807. Lottumstraße named after him in Berlin
    • Friedrich Christoph Karl von Lottum (1773-1801) died at 27. Was 19 at Valmy.
  • Heinrich Christoph Karl Herrmann, Reichsgraf von Wylich und Lottum (1773-1830) at Waterloo. Also 19 at Valmy, Similar names. Served in 1st Dragoon Regiment (von Lottum) to become Oberst in 1813.
