He became the Duke of Piacenza in 1824. His father "Charles" was the Duke of Plaisance and an important politician of the Revolutionary and Napoleonic periods. Entered the army in 1799; 00 ADC to Napoleon; Col. of 3rd Hussars in 1804 – Austerlitz (ADC), Jena, Eylau, X rank 3/1/07 - Friedland (ADC); ADC in Spain in 08, Germany in 09; XX rank 2/12; XX 13 ADC to Nappy; XX late 13-14 oversaw the loss of the Netherlands; XXX (III) in 4/14, then ADC again.
