On his father's staff in early 1790s, then in Italy in the mid 1790s; X rank 3/28/97; X 00 Marengo (famous and brilliant charge); XX rank 7/00;XX 05 Austerlitz; X 08 Spain - Vimiero; XX 09-11 Spain WW, Alba de Tormes (W) - Governor of Leon (9/11). Sick during 1812. XXX 13-15 Leipzig, Quatre Bras, Waterloo (wounded). "One of the top four French cavalry commanders." May have been the best. He was a noted looter and admitted it. (1770-1835)
