A son of "General Egalite." Known as the Duc de Valois until 1785, then as the Duc de Chartres. He served with his father in the Valmy and Jemappes campaigns. After the execution of his father in 1793, he inherited the title of Duc d'Orleans and fled to Austria. He was later King of France from 1830 - 1848. (1783-1850)
