Entered the French army in 1792 after serving in the Piedmont/Sardinian army 1785 – 1792. Brother to Caffarelli 1. In the Consular Guard @ Marengo; XX rank in 1805; X & XX 05 (took over Bisson's division) - Austerlitz; Imperial ADC in 1806; XX 09 Italy – W; XXX 13 Spain 09-12; ADC to Napoleon 13. Taken prisoner at Leipzig in 1813, he remained a POW until Napoleon's first abdication. He rallied to Napoleon in 1815. (1766-1849)
